Installation of rectifiers and batteries for telecom applications
The project, which included the installation of rectifier systems in 54 locations, was a real challenge for our company. We have concluded eight contracts for delivery, installation and commissioning of 48V rectifier systems, with capacities from 7,5kW to 60kW for telecom sites. The equipment included the Flatpack2 HE rectifier systems, produced by Eltek from Norway, leader in telecommunications applications supply and, in certain facilities, batteries produced by FIAMM, 2x48V 1000Ah, 2SLA1000.
The implementation consisted of a series of steps:
- Design development;
- Dismantling of the existing system;
- Installation works for the complete rectifier system: network distribution area, rectifier system and stationary lead acid batteries. Installation was done under difficult operating conditions, with the requirement that the equipment had to be installed without interruption of the consumers’ operations;
- Equipment inspection and functional testing;quipment and functional testing,
- PowerSuite software installation and setups for control and remote adjustment of the system parameters;
- Testing of electrical installation: measuring of earth resistance, cable Insulation resistance between laid cables, short-circuit loop impedance and continuity of protective conductors;
- Quality control of executed works;
- Commissioning of the system;
- Preparation of the final sets of as-built drawing.
